For the third consecutive year Fundacion BAI A.C. brought its programs to the community of Isla Mujeres in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Along with PEACE Isla Mujeres, TEAMM Yucatan, Volunteers and members of the Board, Fundación participated in a community health fair and conducted free HIV rapid testing with education and prevention materials. We would like to thank the local authorities and the media for their important support!

The Summer of 2009 was very exciting for Brazos. Members of the Brazos Board of Directors, along with TEAMM USA and some guests took part in Brazos Summer events, HIV prevention programs and free anonymous HIV testing.
On July 22nd, Brazos conducted a safe sex workshop and free anonymous HIV testing on Isla Mujeres’ main square. On July 25th, TEAMM Yucatan and TEAMM US conducted a community fair based on HIV prevention and education. Brazos also conducted free anonymous testing in the Komchen main square. It was a very successful summer for Brazos. Below are some links to the news coverage Brazos received.

On its May 28th 2009 edition, the Local newspaper, Diario de Yucatan, has published on its website, (www.yucatan.com.mx) under the Merida section, the first press release of the events, in coordination with the city hall and Merida Joven through their social communication department.
The Milenio Novedades of Yucatan, published this article on its May 29 edition
On the Sunday edition of the Yucatan newspaper, (November 9th 2008) they reported the successful event of our First fair of sexuality with the first detections program in a village of the state of Yucatan, they note that over 225 people attended the event, although we tested around 165 - 170, and none of them were reactive fortunately according to the report. We had a lot of support of the local authorities and of the school authorities too.
On the Edition of November 6th 2008 of the Yucatan newspaper they report, we are having a workshop this week and ending with the first HIV testing program in the Yucatan outside Merida, Today the most influential newspaper published the note about our work and announcing about the rapid tests which will be done tomorrow. Congratulations to all Brazos Supporters for this efforts and lets spread the word about these great news.
